VERNON, NY – The thunder rolls.

After a doubleheader weekend, Utica-Rome Speedway rings in another weekend with the F.X. Caprara Thunder on the Thruway Series on tap.

The Thunder on the Thruway Series event was originally scheduled for Friday, May 10, however rain forced the postponement to this Friday, May 24.

The 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds headline the Friday night affair going for 30 laps and a $4,000 top prize in Round No. 2 of the six-race series between Utica-Rome Speedway and neighboring Fonda Speedway.

The Taylor’s Trailers LLC Crate 602 Sportsman ($1,500-to-win) and Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks ($1,000-to-win) will also be partaking in Round No. 2 of the six-race series.

The Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman, Fonda Fair Four Cylinders, and the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series are all on the card as well.

Genoa, N.Y.’s Pat Ward (Friday) and Johnstown, N.Y.’s Rocky Warner (Saturday) head into Friday night as the most recent 3 Bastards Brewing Modified winners at the ‘Home of Heroes.’

Ward snapped a winless streak of nearly six years at Utica-Rome Speedway while Warner’s winless drought spanned nearly three years at the Route 5 oval.

Tyler Peet (Crate 602 Sportsman), A.J. Walters (Pro Stocks), Corky Warner (Limited Sportsman), Dan Valade (Four Cylinder Dual Cam), Wayne Russell Jr. (Four Cylinder Single Cam), A.J. Albreada (All-Star Slingshots), and Addisyn Roger (Junior Slingshots) were all victorious this past Saturday night.

Michael Maresca (Modifieds), Chad Edwards (Crate 602 Sportsman), and Luke Horning (Pro Stocks) were all victorious in the opening round of the Thunder on the Thruway Series.

The Modifieds, Crate 602 Sportsman, and Pro Stocks will follow a draw/redraw format for all Thunder on the Thruway Series events.

The Limited Sportsman and Four Cylinders will follow weekly handicapping procedures and the Slingshots will follow a draw format.
