VERNON, NY – Feel the thunder.

This Friday (June 16), the F.X. Caprara Car Companies Thunder on the Thruway Series takes over Utica-Rome Speedway as Clinton Collision and Tom Cole’s Lexi LLC present NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series competition at the Home of Heroes.

The Thunder on the Thruway Series includes six events contested between Utica-Rome and neighboring Fonda Speedway for the Modified, Crate 602 Sportsman and Pro Stock divisions.

On Friday night, 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds race for $4,000 to win, Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman battle for $1,500 to win and Next Generation GraphiX Pro Stocks compete for a $1,000 top prize.

Modifieds, Crate 602 Sportsman and Pro Stocks will compete under a draw/redraw format. Thunder on the Thruway, Utica-Rome and NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series points will be awarded.

One Thunder on the Thruway event has been completed at Fonda Speedway in May with Stewart Friesen (Modified), Payton Talbot (Crate 602 Sportsman) and Beau Ballard (Pro Stock) taking the Sunoco Race Fuels checkered flags.

Also in competition will be the Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman, Fonda Fair Four Cylinders, Allstar Slingshots (inner oval) and Junior Slingshots (inner oval).

Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $18 for Adults, $16 for Seniors and Kids 11 and under are FREE.

Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 and up), $35 (NASCAR or Utica-Rome Members), $10 for Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 for Children ages 5 and under.

Friday’s event – and all Utica-Rome 2023 races – will be broadcast live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) as part of the $150 annual subscription.
