June 9 Program Falls to Heavy Rain, Saturated Grounds
VERNON, NY – Off-and-on showers throughout the day, capped by a mid-afternoon heavy rainfall and continued precipitation, led Utica-Rome Speedway management to cancel Friday night’s A-Verdi Storage Containers NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series event.
The event was slated to include a visit by the traveling CRSA Sprint Cars.
Racing resumes on Friday, June 16 when Clinton Collision and Tom Cole’s Lexi LLC present the F.X Caprara ‘Thunder on the Thruway Series’ for 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds ($4,000 to win), Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman ($1,500 to win) and Pro Stocks ($1,000 to win) plus Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman, Fonda Fair Four Cylinders, Senior Services Inc. Allstar Slingshots and Junior Slingshots.
Thunder on the Thruway divisions will feature a draw/redraw format.
Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $18 for Adults, $16 for Seniors and Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 and up), $35 (NASCAR or Utica-Rome Member), $10 for Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 for Children 5 and under.
Friday’s event – and all Utica-Rome 2023 races – will be broadcast live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) as part of the $150 annual subscription.
