Sprint Car Excitement: CRSA Makes First 2022 Appearance at Utica-Rome Speedway Friday

This Friday, June 24, Utica-Rome Speedway hosts the CRSA 305 Sprint Cars for the first time in 2022.
The CRSA Sprint Cars join the Sunoco Modifieds, Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman, and the Fonda Fair Four Cylinders.
Gorham, N.Y.’s Alysha Bay and Spencer, N.Y.’s Kyle Pierce were triumphant in the two CRSA 305 Sprint Car appearances in 2021.
Savannah, N.Y.’s Matt Sheppard – last Friday’s winner – has now won five of the seven Sunoco Modified features thus far in 2022 at the ‘Home of Heroes.’ Sheppard’s dominance has granted him a commanding 78-point margin.
Unadilla, N.Y.’s Billy Decker sits second in the standings with Covington Township, Pa.’s Alex Yankowski rounding out the top three.
South New Berlin, N.Y.’s Payton Talbot – like Sheppard – has now claimed a handful of victories this season with the Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman.
The five-time winner holds a 40-point advantage over Durhamville, N.Y.’s Matt Janczuk. Rome, N.Y.’s Chris Mackey sits third, another 28 points behind Janczuk.
Fort Johnson, N.Y.’s Josh Coonradt claimed his first Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks win of the 2022 season this past Friday night. Coonradt raced to the front after being involved in an early race tangle to take the win.
Grand Gorge, N.Y.’s Beau Ballard leads the Next Generation Graphix Pro Stock standings heading into Friday night’s action, holding a 36-point advantage over Bret Belden, with Jay Corbin sitting just two markers behind Belden.
South New Berlin, N.Y.’s Zack Welch won his first career Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman feature this past Friday night. With the win, the teenager sits fourth in points, 22-points out of first.
Schoharie, N.Y.’s Seth Martin took over the point lead, just two markers ahead of Oxford, N.Y.’s Matt Backus and Hamilton, N.Y. native Alex Hughes.
Matt Bukovan continues to set the pace with the Fonda Fair Four Cylinders, holding a 14-point lead over David DeNova at the top of the standings.
For the June 24 program, all gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are slated to begin at 6:45 p.m. with racing to follow at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $14 for Adults and $12 for Seniors (ages 65 and above). Kids 11 and under get in FREE.
Pit Admission is $30 for Utica-Rome Speedway members and $35 for non-members.
