Utica-Rome Speedway May 28 Program Falls to Rain
VERNON, NY – All-day, steady rain in Central New York prompted the cancellation of Friday night’s program at Utica-Rome Speedway.
Speedway management opted to pull the plug on the night’s racing late Friday afternoon after reviewing the forecast, which called for a 100-percent chance of precipitation.
The Sunoco Modified Twin 20s will be rescheduled to another date this season.
Racing will resume at the Home of Heroes next Friday, June 4 with a full program of Sunoco Modifieds, Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman, Next Generation Grafix Pro Stocks and the first 2021 appearance by the RUSH Late Models on the half-mile oval.
The RUSH Late Models will run 20 laps for $1,000 to win and $100 to start.
On the inner oval, the Senior Services Inc. Slingshots and D&S Landscaping Junior Slingshots will be in competition.
Cool Stuff Antiques Four Cylinders are not on the schedule for June 4. They will return June 11.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps will be called at 6:30 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $12. Seniors (ages 65 and up) pay $10. Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit admission is $30 for Utica-Rome Speedway members and $35 for non-members.
