VP Racing Fuels Summer Shootout Schedule Changes; Opener Now Sunday, May 5 at Utica-Rome Speedway
VERNON, NY – The VP Racing Fuels Summer Shootout Series event scheduled for this past weekend has been rescheduled for this coming Sunday, May 5 at the Utica-Rome Speedway. Last weekend’s scheduled kickoff was postponed due to cold temperatures and wet grounds.
With Utica-Rome Speedway moving their date to this coming weekend, the Albany-Saratoga Speedway has elected to move their first series race to Friday, June 7th. They’ll also wrap up the series on September 13. Lebanon Valley Speedway is slated to host their events on July 6 and August 31. Utica-Rome’s second date remains on Sunday, August 25.
Each of the six series events will pay a minimum of $1,000 to win and $100 to start for the DIRTcar Sportsman division. Points will be tabulated for the six race series with the overall series champion taking home a huge grand prize from VP Racing Fuels. The 2019 series champion will receive the following:
- Car Wrap – VP Racing Fuels car wrap to support sponsorship
- Driving Suit – VP Branded Fire Suit (may also contain other sponsors on sleeves is applicable)
- $3,000 in VP Racing Fuels consumer products (any combination of lubricants, additives, car care products)

Joining the VP Summer Shootout Series this Sunday at the Utica-Rome Speedway is the DirtTrackDigest.com DIRTcar 358-Modifieds, the Ted’s Body Shop DIRTcar Pro Stocks and the Rookie Sportsman. The night will be capped off with mechanic races for all three division.
Pit gates open at 3:30pm while spectator gates swinging open at 4pm with the heat races beginning promptly at 6pm for opening night. Adult general admission for the opener is set at $13 with seniors/military members/students 17-18 just $10 while kids 16 and under are free. Pit admission for the night is $27 for DIRTcar members and $30 for non-members.
