Wet Weather Forces Cancellation of April 28 Racing at Utica-Rome Speedway
VERNON, NY – The Utica-Rome Speedway has been forced by Mother Nature to once again pull the plug on the scheduled racing program for this Sunday, April 28. The speedway received persistent rains all night Friday and again on Saturday saturating the grounds to the point of no return. The rain continued to come down on Sunday morning.
The speedway now must look ahead to next Sunday’s racing action as Federated Auto Parts and Fisher Auto Parts presents the return of mechanic’s racing. Also on the schedule for the night is the DirtTrackDigest.com DIRTcar 358-Modifieds, Broedel Fuel Group DIRTcar Sportsman, Ted’s Body Shop Pro Stocks as well as the Rookie Sportsman.
Pit gates open at 3:30pm while spectator gates swinging open at 4pm with the heat races beginning promptly at 6pm for opening night. Adult general admission for the opener is set at $13 with seniors/military members/students 17-18 just $10 while kids 16 and under are free. Pit admission for the night is $27 for DIRTcar members and $30 for non-members.
