Utica-Rome Speedway Schedule Includes Something for Everyone in 2019
VERNON, NY – The Utica-Rome Speedway has once again put together a diverse schedule for the 2019 season at the facility with events for everyone. Included in the schedule are traditional circle track dates, the kartway, motocross, monster trucks, pulling events as well as the return of FrogFest.
The month of April kicks off the season with open practice on April 7 before a huge opening day program on April 14 that features the DIRTcar big-block Modifieds for $2,500 to win, the Dirttrackdigest.com DIRTcar 358-Modifieds in a $1,500 to win 30-lap feature along with the Broedel Fuel Group DIRTcar Sportsman and Ted’s Body Shop DIRTcar Pro Stocks. The track then sits silent on April 21 to observe Eastern Sunday before returning with a program for weekly divisions with $1,000 on the line for the DIRTcar Sportsman.
May is highlighted by the first of two stops for the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series as the Mother Day special returns. The series event, scheduled for 100-laps, should be one of the highest car counts for the tour as Utica-Rome is the first race for the series for the small-block Modifieds with $4,000 on the line. The first event for the Utica-Rome Kartway is schedule for May 19. The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints return to action on Memorial Day for the first of four appearances by the 360 Sprint Cars.
On Saturday, June 1 FrogFest returns with a headlining act of Randy Houser. The following night The Wild Animal Park presents the return of the Ultimate Sportsman Showdown in which the Broedel Fuel Group DIRTcar Sportsman are set to race in the Wild 100 with $2,500 on the line and a huge giraffe trophy. A week later the circle track sits silent as the AMA Motocross riders take over the facility for the weekend. Practice is slated for June 8 before a full program of racing on June 9 beginning at 10am. The DIRTcar Sportsman tour makes its first appearance on June 16 with $1,000 going to the winner. The 360 Sprint Cars return the following week with the first ever 50-lap main-event for the division for the Cole Cup powered by Donath Motorworx. $5,000 will be up for grabs as Sprint Car stars from all over the Northeast converge trying to join Stewart Friesen, Mark Smith and Jason Barney as Cole Cup winners. On June 30 the Kartway returns to action.
July kicks off in style with the culmination of Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprint Speedweek on July 7. Then, just five days, Tony Stewart’s Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All-Star Circuit of Champions takes to the track in a special Friday Night Dirt Double as they are joined by an open competition Modified event on Friday, July 12. The big track will sit idle on Sunday as the Utica-Rome Kartway will be the feature attraction on July 14. After being washed out last year, the Monster Trucks are slated to make an appearance on July 28th along with the high paying $1,000 to win for the Broedel Fuel Group DIRTcar Sportsman and $1,000 to win All-Star Ted’s Body Shop DIRTcar Pro Stocks Spectacular.
August gets up to speed on August 4 with the Jan Corcoran Memorial Modified paying $3,064 in a big-block/small-block shootout. The DIRTcar Sportsman are also on the schedule that night with $640 going to the winner. A week later the Bobby Page Foundation returns for their annual backpack give-a-way. On Friday, August 23 the Shootout Productions Truck Pulling Series in back before the final night of points for the DirtTrackDigest.com DIRTcar 358-Modifieds on Sunday, August 25.
The New Yorker 100 for the Super DIRTcar Series Modifieds joins the Empire Super Sprints on September 1 for the only circle track event in the month of September. The DIRTcar Sportsman and DIRTcar Pro Stocks also wrap up their 2019 point chase on this night. A week later on September 8 the motocross track comes back to life.
Utica-Rome Speedway kicks off this year’s edition of Super DIRT Week as the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series is in action in another 100-lap, $4,000 to win feature on Tuesday, October 8. Also on the card is a $1,000 to win DIRTcar Sportsman Series event. October also has a motocross event on October 20 before a second attempt is made at running the Monster Mash on October 26. The Sportsman and Pro Stocks are scheduled to be in action with Kids Trick o’ Treating in the pit area.
The Utica-Rome Speedway will have a booth at this weekend’s Syracuse Motorsports Expo for those looking for a schedule card or more information about the events during the 2019 racing season.
