UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY SUFFERS NINTH RAINOUT OF THE SEASON ON SUNDAY AUGUST 28
VERNON, NY- A late afternoon thunderstorm swept through the Vernon area shortly after the gates opened at the Utica-Rome Speedway, bringing with it heavy rain and hail. Track officials were forced to cancel the racing program for August 28 which included the GRIT 602 Sportsman Series plus the Gates-Cole Insurance Modifieds, Broedel Energy Open Sportsman, and G&I Homes of Vernon Pro Stocks.
This is the ninth complete event lost to weather and the tenth event affected by Mother Nature.
Next Sunday, September 4, is championship night at the Utica-Rome Speedway when Broedel Energy presents the return of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints plus the final night of points for the Gates-Cole Insurance Modifieds, SUNY Canton 602 Sportsman, Broedel Energy Open Sportsman, and G&I Homes of Vernon Pro Stocks.
