The Ferris Mowers Race of Champions Dirt Modified Series fueled by Sunoco heads back to Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y., this Sunday for two feature events. The first feature to be decided will be the held-over “Victoria 200”. The 55-lap, $5,500-to-win race, which already had qualifying take place in May will have a 26-car field. After qualifying took place in May, Mike Mahaney of King Ferry, N.Y., redrew the pole position and will lead the field to the green.

Pit gates will open on Sunday morning for the “Victoria 200” at 10:00 am, with the grandstand gates opening at 11:30 am and racing beginning at 1:00 pm. At the conclusion of the event the grandstands and pit area will be cleared. Once the areas are cleared, the gates will be reopened for the Legends Night event.

Legends Night will feature a 60-lap feature paying $6,000-to-win and honor Utica-Rome Speedway legends Jerry Cook, Dick Waterman and Bill Wimble.

It will also be the third and final feature in an exciting three race stretch for Race of Champions Dirt Modified Series competitors. Ryan Phelps of Baldwinsville, N.Y., of Fulton, N.Y., is looking to capitalize on the opportunity and have a big day at Utica-Rome.

“I really enjoy racing at Utica-Rome,” stated Phelps. “It’s wide and you can race anywhere on the speedway. We have had success there in the past and we are looking to put it all together Sunday and have another big night. It’s going to be exciting and I hope the fans come out and see what is shaping up to be a great day and night at Utica-Rome.”
